Scholarship Program

Each year, the J.R. Simplot Company provides 100 scholarships, each valued at $1,000, to the children of Company Employees.

All scholarships can be used at the student's school of choice located in North America.

Eligibility and Requirements

The applicant's mother, father, or legal guardian must be an employee of the J.R. Simplot Company or one of its subsidiaries at the time the application is made.

Graduate Students and those attending accredited vocational-technical schools are also eligible for scholarships.

Each submitted application must be completed and a copy of a high school or college transcript must be attached.

To receive scholarship funds, recipients must be enrolled as full-time students at the college of their choice.

Company Employees are not eligible to apply for scholarships under this program. Other educational assistance is available to them.

Applying

Applications must be received no later than April 1st, unless the date falls on a weekend, in which case the following Monday will be the deadline. Please note that applications received after the deadline will be considered for the following school year.

Recipients may re-apply for scholarships every year. The same selection procedure is used for consideration of all applicants. Prior recipients are not considered separately from first-time applicants.

Selection Process

To ensure impartial selection, recipients are chosen by a scholarship committee at Boise State University.

In every case, a point system is used which ranks applications based on all information provided on the application form.

Recipients of scholarships will be notified during the month of July. Those not receiving scholarships will also be notified.

After all the recipients have been selected and notified, the scholarship monies will be sent to the appropriate university or college in the recipient's name and applied toward tuition fees.

If possible, the college address and scholarship coordinator to which the money is sent should be specified on the application form.
